This past friday night found me at Henri Bendel’s on Fifth Avenue here in Manhattan.  Though I had heard of Alison Nelson’s Chocolate Bar on the LES, I generally don’t travel through that neighborhood, however this weekend a girlfriend of mine wanted to get a yummy friday night treat, so when we looked up the website we found a delightful location right here in Midtown.  Just a hop-skip-and-a-jump from our work, we ventured to the fun store of Henri Bendel for some eye candy and mouth-watering chocolate! 

The store is delightful, plenty of girl treats, even for those watching their cashflow, which was a suprise to me!  I may not be able to get the $4,000 Janet Jackson Rythmn Nation remake jacket, but I could afford a nice trinket or two!

The Chocolate Cafe, located on the third floor, is delightful!  The staff is almost overwhelmingly nice, very welcoming and friendly, the tunes great and the chocolate yummy, it is absolutely the coolest little retreat.  Plush off-white booths line the walls, some great designer has kept it up to date with the trends, but also gives it that addage of classic and charming.

This classic gives it 4 Stars!  (I would give it 5, but there was a slight problem with their pastries and a series of fruit flies, they should clean that up, it was really unexpected… so be a bit wary!)
